For Broadcast organisations whose engineers and operators will setup and operate digital satellite equipment in uplinks and downlinks for television and radio.
Content is 50% Theory and 50% Practical using operational broadcast equipment.

To provide an introduction to satellite communications.
To provide the necessary theory and practical knowledge to plan, setup and operate digital satellite equipment in uplinks and downlinks for television and radio, whether in the studio environment or out in the field.

Video - TV Principles, Test and Monitoring
Audio - Principles, Mixers, Test and Monitoring
Digital Video - Compression techniques, coding, multiplexing
RF Techniques - Modulators, Up/Down converters, Link Budgets, Transmit, Receive Chains, uplinking multiple carriers simultaneously
Satellites - Position Calculations, Polarities, Beacons, Accessing
Communication Packages
Cameras, VT machines - basic operational use, formats
Satellite Phones - Setup and operation
Generators and Shore power
Examination - Theory and Practical
